Best Places to See a show in Las Vegas
Think of Las Vegas and you think of music, right? Elvis, Wayne Newton, Tom Jones. But where do you go when you want to see concerts by bands and artists who've hit the charts within the last twenty years? The best place to see concerts in Vegas is without a doubt at the MGM Grand Garden arena, though the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay is a very close second. In fact, the House of Blues has a vociferous fan base that swears it's much better than the Grand. The House of Blues features attractions that just aren't going to make it to the Grand, at least not yet. MGM gets the big names like U2 and the Eagles, while the House of Blues gets the really interesting bands like the...

Las Vegas Restaurant Suggestions

Author: Tom Schmidt

If you like to eat out, Las Vegas is the place to do it. Many major restaurants around the country have opened locations in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Restaurants:
Our favorite Las Vegas restaurants, in no particular order, are:
Rosemary's (in our opinion best in Vegas)-- Long drive (it's at West Sahara and Cimarron), but well worth it. Rosemary's was started by Emeril Lagasse's sous chef after she moved to Vegas from New Orleans to open Emeril's Fish House in MGM. If it's on the menu, do not pass up the gnocchi -- even if you don't like gnocchi, you can't help but love it.
Nobu (in Hard Rock Hotel) - Hip Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant. If you can get in, go.
Noodles (in the Bellagio, this is a great place for a cheap lunch or dinner if you like Asian)
Prime (in the Bellagio) -- best steakhouse in Las Vegas, but watch out for the price tag.
Jasmine (in the Bellagio) -- best upscale Asian food in Las Vegas. Shintaro (in the Bellagio) -- best regular sushi in Las Vegas. For a twist on Sushi, try Nobu, above.
Sensi (in the Bellagio Spa Tower) -- The Sensi Restaurant in Las Vegas is a great new restaurant at the Bellagio. It offers a blend of Central Asian and Italian food. Unique dining experience.
Bally's Steak House (Yeah, it surprised us, too).
Joe's Stone Crab (Caesar's mall)
The Palm (Caesar's mall) -- Best lobster in Las Vegas. Sushi Bar at Mandalay Bay (Not as good as Bellagio's, but WAY cheaper)
Wolfgang Puck's Trattoria Lupo (in Mandalay Bay) -- great Italian food.
Bouchon -- in the Venetian Hotel, this place is fabulous. Not cheap, but food and service are wonderful. Other restaurants off the beaten path that you should consider:
Lotus of Siam -- Outstanding Thai food just off the strip.
Nora's Italian Cuisine -- Small Italian restaurant that is a local favorite. The owner prepares her own family recipes from Sicily in a restaurant near the corner of Flamingo and Jones Streets, about a 10-minute taxi ride from the Las Vegas Strip.

Las Vegas Travel Guide
The lure of Las Vegas is a reality — it is a city one would want to visit again and again. The city seems to possess some magic that attracts people and makes them want to return. Las Vegas helps people relax and makes them comfortable. Las Vegas is fun, especially during vacation. It is most advisable to first check the availability of any vacation packages before going there, as this makes more sense—both financially and in terms of planning a hassle-free vacation—instead of booking everything separately. November through February has always been the quietest, and thus the cheapest, period in Vegas. However, many popular shows take a break during this time, as well as during events such as Thanksgiving, New Year’s, and the Super bowl, when large numbers of people take their parties to Vegas. In addition, there are several conventions that are usually held in town, which results in accommodation prices changing. Summers in Las Vegas are very hot, with the daily high averaging around 38°C (100°F) from June to September. The average winter lows are around 13°C (55°F) from December to January. The rest of the year is temperate. It is not difficult to find inexpensive food and entertainment in Vegas these days. Lately, Vegas has also acquired a reputation as a family vacation haven thanks to child-friendly special-effects spectacles, such as bursting volcanoes, full-scale pirate attacks on British ships, fire-breathing dragons, etc. Some of the things that are not to be missed when visiting Las Vegas are the giant clown in front of the Circus and a copy of the Great Pyramid. Life in Vegas — a city known as a Disneyland for adults — still revolves around gambling. It is a sport that is inextricably associated with Las Vegas. Entertainment has always been the most...
